"The History of the Cinema" is an amusingly animated version of the film industry’s history, beginning with man’s emergence as an artist and appreciator of movement, through Roger Bacon’s invention of the camera box in the 13th century, to the present day. Highlights of the film include the growth of the film industry, the censors, the producers, the Westerns, talkies and television. This is a lively presentation of historical fact made thoroughly enjoyable by the animator’s humorous treatment of the subject. Produced and directed by John Halas. A Halas and Batchelor Studios Production.
