In this skillfully stylized animated version of the classic French tale,
we see what happens when a wealthy merchant is forced to leave his daughter Beauty at the palace of an outraged beast. The beast, however, treats Beauty with gentleness and kindness. Eventually,
she breaks the evil spell by loving the beast for his true self, and he is returned to his rightful existence—as a handsome prince.
