At the time America was going through its worst economic crisis,
Franklin Delano Roosevelt seemed to offer a natural talent for
leadership. This film shows how that charismatic quality
appealed so much when America lacked direction and vitality.
The film also traces the steps Roosevelt took to create a larger
federal bureaucracy than had ever existed. Henry Fonda
narrates.
