and temperaments find their reflections in the quaintness, diversity
and culture there. Since one seldom sees the lifestyle of Eastern
Europeans, this film brings into focus all that previously seemed
strange and unfamiliar. Our journey into the mythology and history of
each small country is embellished by the filmmaker's compassion and respect for these intelligent, industrious, and special people. The
historical footage and views of newly rebuilt cities emphasize the
dramatic changes in this unique region as well as the psychological
