There are eight of them, eight children from every corner of the planet. Some live in China; others in India; others still in Mali. As different as they are, one thing unites them: music.
Their instruments are often unusual because they are rooted in their countries’ traditions. From the Lu Sheng in China to the Indian Tablas, from the Kora of Mali to the Drums of Cuba, this series invites you to discover the music of these special children and the close relationship they have with their instruments.
The series is halfway between documentary and fiction. Each portrait is structured like a story. The still-living traditions, the instrument’s history and the secrets of how it is made are revealed to us at the same time as each child’s unique story is told.
